Unnecessary Farce - Update

So, we are about to finish our final week of rehearsals. We start tech week this Tuesday, and I can't wait to get into the real space...with carpet! Let's just say my elbows, knees, legs,...and whole body have really taken a beating these last few weeks. I knew coming into rehearsals that this was going to be a very physical show, so I tried to prepare myself as much as I could for the bruises -- but I end up hurting my knee last week and had to convince myself to take it easy.

I gave myself a few days to heal, and now I'm back in full force...with elbow and knee pads. I feel like I'm re-living my Xanadu days.

I have never felt as wore out after a show as I do running through this one...and I've done a whole show on skates! There is just this amped up energy and tension in a farce , that leads you to feeling like you've just run 5 miles when it's over. (Mental note: put on lots of deoterant before show)

This show has been a great learning experience for me, and I am gratefully for the opportunity to preform in a straight show again.

Now on to the coming week and opening on Friday!
